Sterling delighted with City move

England international forward Raheem Sterling has admitted he is absolutely delighted after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal with Manchester City.

The deal, for a fee that could rise to £49 million, makes Sterling the most expensive English footballer in history.

Sterling, who joined Liverpool from Queens Park Rangers for an initial fee of £600,000 in 2010, has been the subject of exit rumours all summer long, and the player is relieved the saga is finally over.

“It’s a good feeling and this is really happy time for me and my family,” Sterling told the club s official website. “I’m just glad it’s all over and done with and I can’t wait to get on the training field.

Chelsea suffered losses of £23.1million and a drop in turnover for the financial year ending June 30 2015.

The Premier League champions announced their financial results for the year on Monday, confirming the loss on revenues of £314.3m for the year.

A club statement read: After relevant adjustments the club is comfortably within the allowable limits of Financial Fair Play. Chelsea has complied with FFP criteria throughout its monitoring periods which began with the 2011-12 season.

Bergkamp not interested in Swansea job

Dennis Bergkamp has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant manager s job at Swansea City.

The former Arsenal forward has been linked with the position following the sacking of Garry Monk.

Swansea parted company with Monk on Wednesday following a run of just one win in 11 Premier League matches, a streak that has left the Welsh club only one point above the relegation zone.

Bergkamp has served as an assistant with Ajax since 2011, but is not interested in taking the step up at this point in his coaching career.

He told Voetbal International: I currently have no ambition to become a head coach. There s a job to do at Ajax and I see my role here in the next few years.

In three campaigns with Villa he scored forty-nine go…

I´m back! – In-form Griezmann aims to finish season strongly ahead of World Cup

Antoine Griezmann believes he is back to his best at Atletico Madrid after enduring a complicated start to the season.

Linked with a blockbuster transfer to Premier League side Manchester United that failed to materialise, the France international endured a rocky beginning to the 2017-18 campaign.

He was sent off in Atletico s LaLiga opener against Girona before enduring an eight-game run without a goal, his longest dry spell for the club since arriving from Real Sociedad in July 2014.

However, Griezmann who is rumoured to be Barcelona s top transfer target has been in sensational scoring form in 2018, finding the net 12 times in LaLiga while also bagging three more in his side s Europa League campaign.

Man Utd plan to extend Old Trafford, safe standing to be introduced against Wolves

Manchester United are in the early stages of planning an Old Trafford expansion, while they will play their first game with safe standing against Wolves next month.

Juventus 1-0 Roma: Three things as resilient Juventus continue table climb

In a tough battle to get a result at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Sunday evening, Juventus edged out AS Roma by a single goal, courtesy of a luckily deflected header by Rodrigo Bentancur which hit Moise Kean before finding its way into the net in the 16th minute. It was an interesting duel between very good teams, marked by a highly controversial moment in which referee Daniele Orsato may have unintentionally helped the home team hold onto their lead, but little can be said against the way the Old Lady kept their heads to make it all the way through.

This was the fourth Serie A win in a row for Juventus, who are now seventh with 14 points, the same tally as Lazio and Atalanta in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Roma remain fourth for the time being with 15, but they ve m…

The 44-year-old took charge at the Camp Nou in June 2012, succeeding Pep Guardiola, but his tenure was overshadowed by his health issues, with assistant Jordi Roura mangaing the team for much of last season.

Vilanova spent five years with the Catalan club, joining in 2008 as Guardiola s assistant after the pair had enjoyed great success with the Barcelona B team.

Heitinga set for Everton exit

I have made no arrangement with the club about that. I will just wait and see what happens.
The former Ajax and Atletico Madrid man has been a regular fixture in Everton s squad since joining in 2009 and has spent much of his time alongside Phil Jagielka.
Both were signed by David Moyes and the England international says the Scot has done wonders for his growth as a player.
David Moyes gave me a chance to play at a higher level, coached me to a better level and helped my game progress, Jagielka said.
Over the last six years he has taken me from possibly being a Premier League defender to playing some games for England. But I would also like to think I put myself on the line for him as well.
That is why we did so well as a club during the time he was there.
