Premier League Preview | Liverpool v Arsenal

Brendan Rodgers Liverpool are set to play host to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday, with both sides coming into the clash without a win in their first two league matches.

The Reds have won just one of their last 10 Premier League clashes with Arsenal, posting a less-than-stellar 1-6-3 record against the Gunners.

Furthermore, Arsenal have come from behind in each of their last five games at Anfield, tallying two wins and three draws.

With that said, Liverpool are the favourites to take all three points on Sunday, with Arsenal still looking for their first goal of the 2012-13 Premier League season. In case you were wondering, the Gunners are the only team in the Premier League without a goal this season.

Prediction | Liverpool v Arsenal

Arsenal shock the Reds at Anfield yet again. 2-1 Gunners.

Premier League Preview | Newcastle United v Aston Villa

Aston Villa stumble into the Sports Direct Arena having lost their first two league fixtures, while looking like a Championship outfit in all honesty.

Villa lost 1-0 to Premier League new boys West Ham United on the first day of the season, and were thoroughly beaten 3-1 by a far superior Everton side in their home opener at Villa Park.

The Claret and Blue of Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ashley Westwood and Chesterfield striker Jordan Bowery on deadline day.

Newcastle United have made the Sports Direct Arena a fortress under Alan Pardew; the Magpies are 8-2-1 in their last 11 Premier League home games.

Meanwhile, Villa have now gone 12 league matches without a victory. That s not good.

Prediction | Newcastle United v Aston Villa

Easy pickins for Newcastle. 3-0 Magpies.

Premier League Preview | Southampton v Manchester United

Manchester United travel to The Friends Provident St Mary s Stadium to take on top flight newcomers Southampton on Sunday, 2 September.

United are big favourites against the Saints, and rightfully so to be honest.

The Red Devils have won their last four matches, in all competitions, at St Mary s Stadium, but have lost three of their last four away fixtures in the Premier League.

Here s a doozy, Robin van Persie was sent off in his only league appearance at St Mary s way back on Saturday, 26 February 2005.

On that day, Southampton led by manager Harry Redknapp currently unemployed, earned a 1-1 draw against the Gunners, with Peter Crouch netting the equaliser following Van Persie s dismissal.

Can the Saints secure a potentially vital points against the Red Devils on Sunday? I would not bet on it.

Premier League Preview | Southampton v Manchester United

United stay in cruise control. 3-0 Red Devils.
