This past year or so has done very little for our basic grasp of time.
Don t leave the house for a week, miss a couple of Zoom quizzes and what even are days?
Time and how easily or readily it passes depends on individual perception – our stresses, worries and hopes at that given moment.
Between Chelsea forward Kai Havertz hitting the Real Madrid crossbar in Wednesday s Champions league semi-final and the ball plopping down onto Timo Werner s head, a little under two seconds passed.
It s nothing really, but how they must have dragged for Werner. So many things to flash through his mind s eye. All soundtracked by a klaxon of OH GOD, OH GOD, YOU CAN T MISS… DON T MISS! ARRRGGHHH!
He might have thought of how coolly he linked with the effervesc…
Thierry Henry s first game in charge of Monaco ended in a 2-1 defeat as Strasbourg profited from a Seydou Sy goalkeeping howler and a Samuel Grandsir red card.
Henry replaced Leonardo Jardim seven days ago after Monaco picked up just six points from their opening nine matches, but their display in Alsace showed no signs of an instant improvement despite the former France star s arrival.
It took the home side 17 minutes to move ahead, but they relied on a woeful error from Sy, who allowed Adrien Thomasson s header to squirm out of his arms and into the net despite it looking like a routine save.
The visitors then lost Radamel Falcao to a muscular injury just before half-time.
But Monaco s biggest blow came in the 66th minute when Grandsir – introduced as…
Kylian Mbappe is long admired by Real Madrid and they are again intent on adding the 20-year-old to their front line, it seems.
Mbappe was linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu before opting to stay in Ligue 1 when joining Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in the 2017-18 season.
The Spanish giants have not forgotten about the France international, though, and are planning to move two superstars on in order to get their man, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho has suggested Paul Scholes recent criticism of Manchester United s Paul Pogba could be due to jealousy over the amount of money the France international earns.
Scholes, who played 718 times for United between 1993 and 2013, was critical of Pogba after the club s 0-0 draw with Southampton, claiming he is not the same player he was at Juventus.
The 43-year-old feels Pogba has not shown his best form regularly enough since returning to United, though he went on to play a starring role in Monday s 2-0 win over Everton.
Pogba set up both goals as Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard secured victory and Mourinho came out in defence of his midfielder, while also biting back at Scholes.
A storming performance capped off with assists.

Manchester City overcame the dismissal of Rodri to beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 and maintain their perfect start to the new Premier League season.
Phil Foden gave City the lead in the seventh minute when he fired home from Rodri’s lay-off, before Erling Haaland headed in a second in the 15th minute from Matheus Nunes’ cross.
Midfielder Rodri was shown a straight red card soon after the restart for squaring up to Morgan Gibbs-White and putting his hands on the throat of the Forest midfielder.

The Dutchman was confirmed as the Premier League outfit s next full-time manager on Thursday, succeeding interim boss Ralf Rangnick on a deal through June 2025.
It ends a lengthy courtship by the Red Devils to bring Ten Hag to Old Trafford, having parted ways with previous permanent boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in late 2021.

Antoine Griezmann admits playing in front of a full stadium in sweltering conditions affected France in their surprise 1-1 Euro 2020 draw with Hungary on Saturday.
Barcelona forward Griezmann equalised 24 minutes from time in Budapest to cancel out Attila Fiola s first-half opener and salvage Les Blues a point in the Group F match.
Hungary were spurred on by a raucous crowd, with around 61,000 spectators in attendance thanks to an easing of coronavirus restrictions in the Hungarian capital.

Goals either side of the break from Mateo Poljak and the returning Shannon Cole completed the historic aggregate semi-final victory following a goalless first leg in South Korea.
It means the fledgling club founded in 2012 become only the second Australian side to make the continental decider, following on from Adelaide United in 2008.

Enock Mwepu has returned to Brighton and Hove Albion as an academy coach two months after the discovery of a hereditary heart condition forced him to retire aged 24.
Mwepu, who was also captain of Zambia, fell ill while on a flight to join up with his national side during an international break earlier this season, subsequently spending time in hospital in Mali.
After undergoing further tests, it was determined Mwepu s illness was linked to a heart condition, which can worsen over time and be exacerbated by playing sport.
Mwepu outlined an intention to remain in the sport in some capacity when announcing the end of his playing career in October, and Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi said the club would do everything we can to help him .

Lyon secured a record-extending eighth Women s Champions League title with a 3-1 victory over Barcelona on Saturday at the Allianz Stadium
Defending champions Barca had only lost one competitive game all season but found themselves three goals down after first-half strikes from Amandine Henry, Ada Hegerberg and Catarina Macario.
Blaugrana captain Alexia Putellas pulled one back just before the interval, but Lyon controlled the second half in Turin to ease to another European success.
Lyon required just six minutes to take the lead as Henry scored an incredible solo goal, dancing inside from the left before firing a remarkable, long-range effort into the top-right corner.
